About Look Up

Look Up (lookupbuildings.com) is run by LUMUarchitecture (contact@lookupbuildings.com). By using Look Up you agree to these terms and to our privacy notice.

Your photos and contributions

  • You keep the copyright in the photos and text you add.
  • Only add photos you took yourself, or that you have permission to share. Please don’t upload photos of people who could be recognised without their agreement.
  • By adding a photo or text, you give LUMUarchitecture a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to show, store, resize and share it as part of Look Up (on the website, in the app and in Look Up’s own promotion), with your display name as credit. You can delete your contributions and account at any time; the licence then ends, apart from copies already shared or kept in backups for a limited time.
  • We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

Content from others

  • Building and architect facts come from Wikidata (CC0) and our community. Architect biographies are short extracts from Wikipedia, under CC BY-SA 4.0, with a link to the original article.
  • Many photos come from Wikimedia Commons. Each one shows its author and licence, linked to the source. We only use photos whose licence allows this use.
  • Maps © MapTiler © OpenStreetMap contributors. Building names and images may be trademarks of their owners; for some buildings whose image is protected, we don’t show photos.

Reporting a copyright or trademark problem

If you believe something on Look Up uses your work without permission, email contact@lookupbuildings.com with a link to the page, what the work is, and how we can reach you. We’ll review it promptly and remove it if necessary.

Using Look Up fairly

  • Don’t misuse Look Up: no spam, scraping, fake visits or attempts to break the service.
  • Respect private property and residents. Many buildings are private; only visit what is open.
  • Visiting information can change. Always check with the building before you go.

Liability

Look Up is provided as it is, and we can’t guarantee every fact is correct or that the service is always available. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law.
